Day 14 - I will survive!

Well! I have now lost 7 pounts (3kg's) and feel darn proud of myself. It has been a hard struggle avoiding ALL naughty things but it is definately worth it.

It has been helped along by my yoga and meditation practicies which ensures I avoid emotional gorging. My reiki teacher gave me a really good visualisation to help with calming my fustrated mind down with.
I found a fantastic article on the yoga journal website about knowing your breath and using it to help you remain calm.

Day 7 - Human After all!!

Okay - so I am not so perfect after all. Last night I accidently inhaled some Dorito's... and finished off some ice-cream I found in the dark depths of my freezer. Dammit. At least there weren't that many crisps or that much ice-cream.
Apart from that I have survived 7 days without crisps, chocolates, fizzy drinks, alcohol, pasta, pizza, bread, potatos.. I could go on and on but I wont - I am starting to dribble.
I feel proud! :-) I am going for my weight in in a few minutes so hears hoping I did well.

Found this really good recipe today for roasted red pepper soup - YUMMY!!

Day - 6 Kick the habbit

Another achievement today - I have successfully viewed and scrutinised a buffet for sample and NOT sampled. Watched my colleagues scromf plates of food (after their lunches) and "mmm" and "ahhh"

his is now becoming more of a habit than a chore! I am starting to get used to the idea that I no longer require cakes and crisps. Who knew!! I am going to hang onto this feeling for as long as is humanly possible.

Day 5 - Success!

Well I have reached the top of the first hill in my journey - I made it through the first weekend of this detox. And you know - it wasn't too hard. I just kind of got on with it! The hunger gets ignored and treated with water and it goes away most of the time.

I can already feel a difference with my clothes this morning. ROCK ON!!

I have made a discovery over the weekend - when I signed up for this weight loss programme I gave them my wrong height and told them I am taller than I really am. This means I am actually more over-weight than they thought. Dammit!

Yesterday I found the most AMAZING place - it is called The Mystery Tea House and is located in Preston. They serve over 80 different types of tea from all over the world. I am absolutely obsessed by tea (not the fruity or breakfast variety) so this shop is a real treat for me. They have teas on offer that are served in a glass tea-pot and the tea is a flower that "blooms" when you drop it in the pot. How beautiful! Drinking tea is not just a beverage - it is an experience there! The staff are SO knowledgeable which helps a lot when you are faced with teas that are called "Yerba Mate" which I went for. It is served in a ceramic pot with a silver stirrer and "kind of" straw. All I can say is WOW! This place will definitely be a regular for me.

Demolition struggles

I am so hungry I could eat the arse end off a low flying duck! I guess going 4.5 hours with NOTHING to eat doesn't work very well for me - got the shakes and all!

Day - 2 Toxin Demolition Day

I have woken up this morning with a really stiff neck and a headache. Not sure if it is from my yoga class last night or the lumpy pillow my husband allocated to me.
I hope the headache is because of all the toxins that are being forcibly removed from my body - well at least that is how I want to see it. It makes me feel like it is already working.
From eating all this fresh veg and drinking so much water I have this really bland taste in my mouth which is taking a little getting used to. My mind is trying to tell me it is hunger - I am constantly trying to point out it is not.
This 3 week detox is going to be an exercise in mind control and teaching myself new habits and peeling off the old, destructive habits.

Breakfast: Porridge, berries and cinnamon.
I normally have honey with this (have heard it is better than sweeteners) but had to go without today because of the detox.

Interesting article I found about artificial sweeteners and how they can increase cravings for sugar and carbohydrates.... yikes!!
I am going to follow this blog from now on, sounds like it might be helpful!

The table is looking tasty

Argh!! The craving for carbs is taking over! I am ready to eat anything and I have only been on the diet for half a day. Trying to tell myself it is all in my head, but my head is telling me to snatch a packet of crisps off the nearest person. Bring on yoga tonight to calm myself down and bring some zen to my mind.

Day 1 - New Positive Beginning

I have woken up feeling really fresh - I think I had a really good nights kip. Managed my back exercises, made lunch and had my breakfast. All by 9am!!
Positive thoughts and feelings are currently surrounding me - I am just slightly apprehensive about lasting for 4.5 hours until my next meal. I have told myself I will just have to DO IT for the first week and see how it goes.
Breakfast: Yogurt with berries and seeds.
Enjoyment level: 8/10
Fullness: 7/10

Something interesting:
